OCTOBER 10TH, 2018 - HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY PUFFLES!!

We actually celebrated a day early because our daughter had a special school trip of a few days to go on, but we totally spoiled this little guy. Check out the BLOG.

October 2nd, 2018

We took Puffles hiking with us around Hawksbill Mountain in Shenandoah National Park! He loved it and did great! :)

They finally mowed the grass at the park near our house, so Puffles has been having fun tearing across the large fields chasing us and some ball toys. He's not quite tall enough to run through tall grass and actually enjoy it. He really loves it when it's just been mowed! :)

August 13th, 2018

Puffles has topped out at 18.6 pounds at 10 months old, which is the same weight he was two months ago. Mini Goldendoodles range in size from 15 to 35 pounds or thereabouts, so he's definitely at the smaller end but perfectly fine for us. We love our little fur ball!

Puffles got a partial grooming! We've all decided that "Puffy" looks much better and cuter with longer fur, but he definitely needs a trimming around the face and a professional nail trimming done about every 4 weeks. The fur around his face grows pretty quickly, and then covers up his eyes. And he loves jumping up on everybody to say hello, so needs to have his nails taken care of, too. He's too cute and so excited to see everyone (and not quite big enough) that we haven't trained him to not jump up on people. It's actually the favorite part of our day when this adorable 20 pound fur ball charges us at full speed to give us all sloppy wet kisses when we get home. :)

I've finally gotten caught up on some photos, and uploaded June, July, and August photos! See below. Here's some from today. He's due for a grooming again and ends up needing one about every 6 weeks, but can be stretched to 7 or 8.

We had record setting rain in July here in the D.C. area so not a whole lot of photos that month (in May we also got a ton of rain), but I did just finally upload photos albums for:

We also had a super rare DRY DAY on a weekend here today, so finally managed to get the grass mowed and Puffles out for some fun. We also took him to the local dog park too where he had a great time and wasn't really shy at all, which is unusual for Puffles. He had a great time playing with the other dogs, and is super fast. We also met another brownie colored goldendoodle that was a little bit smaller than Puffles.

June 2018

Sorry for no photos lately, but June was an extraordinarily busy work month for me, with a couple of business trips, crazy hours at my work when here, a trip to the beach, and pretty much sheer exhaustion! I did manage to get a few photos of Puffles here and there, though! He got a grooming on June 14th, and has been enjoying some porch life with us! :) More photos and photo albums when life slows down a little bit after July!

May 20th, 2018

Well, Puffles hasn't had a particularly exciting May. He had his little snippy snippy surgery the first week of the month and had to wear the "cone of shame", which wasn't particularly fun. No worries, we got him a comfy cone that we saw some of his Instagram pals wearing, so he didn't have to suffer too much, and overall handled it pretty well! As soon as he didn't have to wear his silly cone anymore, it started raining and raining and raining for over a week solid, so not too many good photo ops. Finally today, the rain cleared, the sun came out and the grass dried out, and I finally got the grass mowed! Puffles was in heaven and went tearing around the yard in maximum attack mode, playing with his toys and tossing them around! He had a great day!

Puffles has learned how to mark his territory by peeing on trees and lamp posts and fire hydrants lately! LOL! He also loves to sniff every spot of grass that's growing more than the rest, because he knows that's where other doggies have peed!

Puffles got another grooming again! This is his second full grooming since he was born, and he also had a partial groom about a month ago. We've figured out that it's much easier for us to have his nails ground down and rounded off by the groomers once per month, than us trying to do it ourselves. He suuuuuuuure was happy to see me when I came to pick him up, and pretty beat after he got home!! LOL! Poor puppy! He's definitely cuter all "puffy" with his fur grown out, but we don't want him to be too hot, and it does grow into his eyes pretty quickly, so we're trying to find the right balance. He got his last full grooming on February 15th (scroll down), so it looks like we're averaging about 6-8 weeks between full grooms.

April 14th, 2018

Puffles was oogled over constantly while checking out the DC Cherry Blossoms! We lost count of the number of times we heard, "awwww, what a cute puppy! I want a puppy!" No! No you don't! (Just kidding! :) The two very pretty joggers in the background were beaming when they spotted him, and made a bee-line to come over and say hi to him. Puffles is totally a chick magnet! Lol!

Caught mid-yawn, look at all of those TEETH!!! He's fortunately through his super bitey teething phase now, and hasn't been nearly as nippy with everyone.
